The Goliath grouper was officially called the jewfish until 2001. Most Florida anglers never switched. Ask anyone who fishes the Gulf what that fish is and you will hear the old name.
Years ago there was a hoodie with the fish in a kippah on the back. It got discontinued. I missed mine, so I rebuilt it, then gave the rest of the Gulf the same hat. Fifteen species so far. Every fish wears a kippah and a Star of David chain, with "Jew fish" in script.
The hoodie is the kind you already wear on the water: UPF 50+ lightweight performance polyester, in White, Navy, Sand, Seafoam or Light Grey. The print is sublimated, so it is in the fabric, not sitting on top of it. It will not crack or peel. Each one is made when you order it, in Miami, Florida, and ships in 7 to 10 business days. Nothing sits in a warehouse.
There are hats too. Embroidered truckers, a fitted cap and a patch trucker.
The fish really was called that. He finally looks the part.
